    I'm definitely a "helicopter" parent. My son who's 20 has been one his own for almost 2 years and I hate not being able to have more control over his life. It's even worse since his step-father and I relocated to another state for my husband's job. I want my son to be safe and out of trouble, but being so far away I can't cehck-up on him, I can only rely on phoning him. His father lives about an from my son, but can't seem to be there for him when he has car problems or just even being a parent. I ende dup helpign my son from 2500 miles away!
